"On the street where I work, is a little nostalgia. As many of you know, my favorite band happens to be Anberlin, who graced Seattle today for their final show here, on their final tour ever. At the corner of Summit and Pine, is where they recorded their first three records, despite being based in central Florida. For their first ever photo shoot, back in 2002, they shot the cover of their album a block away from where it was recorded. That happens to be the same block where my salon is. During the recording process of their third album, I’d walk across the street and pop into the studio to listen and hang out. Those were the good ol’ days, as they say. They never recorded an album in Seattle again, but they’ve come through on every tour, playing to what amounts to a home-away-from-home show. As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end, and today the end finally came for Anberlin and Seattle. But before I allowed that to happen, I had an idea. A few mornings ago, I awoke insanely early and said to myself "I am going to recreate the cover shot of their first album, just 12 years later." I wanted to do this, as an homage to the beginning of their career and as a way to tie together the end. Today, we made it happen. The shot isn’t anything special at first glance, but to me, and hopefully to the band, it is. Their music has been a gift for the past 12 years and today, I was able to give a gift back. For day 286 of the #JG365Project, I give you Anberlin. I can’t tell you all how much this meant to me, but hopefully I’m able to show you through my photography. (*Fin.)"

How cool would it have been if they’d done a show playing Blueprints straight through in Seattle like they’re doing for Cities in New York…

Final Tour travel buddies?

ohtheyloveusamericanboys:

Hey Tumblr fans, is there anyone out there from Toronto or the GTA planning to go to either the Detroit gig on November 3 or the Cities gig in NYC on the 17th? I am doing both and was hoping to find some travel buddies and, if anyone is planning on driving, maybe carpool & split gas prices!

Reblog or msg me if you’re going!

(I’m also doing Boston on the 12th and the final show in Orlando but I’m flying to those ones. And of course I’m going to Toronto on the 18th, because duh)
